Been a little while since I updated.

Got my final collection removed. This debt is past the SOL in the state of kansas. I wrote the CA a C&D and SOL letter and they removed their tradelines and referred it back to the OC. The OC referred it to an attorney who sent me a letter chalked full of FDCPA violations. I wrote a c&D to him and referenced the statutue of limitations.. We'll see what happens there.

Anyway, I am finally and officially in the 700 club!

Transunion = 703
Equifax = 701
Experian = 685 (This is FAKO score through freecreditreport)

I'm super pleased with my success. Have literally had a 200+ FICO score increase in less than 8 months.

Way to go on your success. I've been monitoring the forum for a while but I haven't really got to business yet. I plan on doing so very soon but I want to start with knowing my fico scores.

My question is did you pay 19.99 for each score from myfico every time you updated on this thread? 39.98 with each update seems like a hard hit on the wallet. Was there a program you got into that let you get fico scores on the cheap?

I went to myfico.com today to check it out. It seemed very complicated and possibly expensive if you need to monitor your scores often.

I did.. But I did every other one each month. Checked my equifax fico in July, Transunion in August, Equifax in September.. etc. That way it was only $20 per month I was spending.

I don't know how much you owe or how recent the debt or even if it's charged off. I would first advise disputing them with the credit bureaus. If it comes back verified send a 623 dispute directly to HSBC orchard. They are know for not keeping old records.

Good luck!

Hal,

At the time of your initial dispute, was the debt already sold to a CA? Mine was sold to Sherman/New Century. Household sent a letter directing all future correspondence to them. Should i still proceed with your prior advice?
