Default EOS - Pay for Delete option

Hello friends,

I am trying to improve my credit score. Right now it is 582. There is an entry from a credit company called EOS and when I tried to negotiate a "pay for delete" agreement, the lady said they will go ahead and do it but will not send a letter of agreement.

I've read a number of thread entries where it is advised to get it writing. I am confused and need suggestions.

Regards,
hrht.

Default suggestion..

First, do not talk to them over the phone.. Do everything through the mail, I know it takes longer but at least you have everything in writing. Second, do not pay them if they will not agree to delete, in writing. You need some kind of proof that they will delete the information once they are paid, or you have nothing to back you up later when they dont delete after getting payment from you! If they will not give you something in writing agreeing to delete the info after payment then I would suggest to keep disputing the information with them, there are several different ways to do it. After awhile, they will most likely give in, it just takes time! By the way never admit to the debt being yours!!

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll mail them a letter again. Why would they not want to finish this matter is beyond me.

Regards.
