Default Response to GW letter

Here is the response I got from my student loan Wells Fargo.

Dear Danelle,

Thank you for contacting the office of John Stumpf regarding the above referenced student loan account. I have been asked to research and respond to your inquiry. I appreciate your taking the time write with your concerns.

Wells Fargo is dedicated to helping our customers succeed financially; therefore, we support your recent efforts to make informed fiancial decisions. I also recognize your intentions to imporver your payment history and credit standing. However, please keep in mind that we are regulated and governed by Federal law, part of which includes compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act to report accurate information to the major credit reporting agencies each month. Due to these regulations and the history of the account, we cannot justify a revision of your credit report.

So where can I go from here? Do I continue to send GW letters?

Then send another letter via CM/regular mail. Attn to the CEO again.

Student loans are VERY difficult to have changed..........and you may not be able to change it.
From what I have read, all lenders are required by the Higher Education Act (have never looked it up or read it so you may want to google it and see if you can find it) to report everything accurately and correctly. So unless it's truly reporting incorrectly or it was their mistake........they might not even have the power to change it.

So, try not to take it too personal. You could try again by regular mail and then also try disputing it with the CRAs if you want to.
