Anything on your CR can be disputed. I'm sure it's possible to have it removed. You would just dispute it like any other TL.

How old is the SL? How long has it been reporting?
The thing is.........is SLs have NO SOL. They can be collected on indefinitely. It would be wise if your friend tried to make some sort of arrangement with the loan company..

Default Student loans

Absolutely. Make sure when you dispute negative items never give excuses, it is simply, not mine for items and never late for late payments. Quick and simple.

I would never use the words "not mine" in a dispute. You don't have to give any information like that at all.

If you say "not mine" and it comes back verified, what will you be able to dispute it as later? You've already said it's not yours. You can't later dispute other aspects of the account. "Not mine" is a big no-no.

I agree.
Not to mention your ALL 3 of your CRs will get flagged with a fraud alert.

Yea, I forgot to mention that. The CRAs will assume identity theft and hit you with fraud alerts...a major pain in the ass.

I've been doing credit repair for several years now and yes, you can delete student loans by dispute them just like you would any other item.

I must say though, firms keep very good records of student loans and they keep them for a long time so they are more difficult to delete. I have deleted them before in the past but it was probably just luck.

I've only ever used one special tactic before in the past. I was repairing a college student's CR and she had a student loan on there that she wanted to be removed.

I looked up the loan company online and they had a notice on their website that said..." Our local office will be moving to a new location on (some date)." I knew the company had not become a paperless environment yet and kept paper records in their files.

I waited to dipute the loan during the month they were moving. It worked!

Now I'm not sure what went on at the office when they received a request to validate the young lady's account with them during their move. Maybe they didn't want to deal with it. Maybe they lost paperwork.

I don't know, but it worked.
