Default Marine College Fund or Bonus?

Should I take the Marine College Fund or the bonus? I was offered the chance to either take a cash bonus of $3000 or to take the MCF in my enlistment contract.

Take the Marine College Fund. Because you can advance your education in whatever you want to do for a living and then you can make more then what you would get, .but it also depends what you go for. But take the College Fund. Your education is more important than money.

Take the MCF, $3,000 is nothing compared to what a good education will get you.

$3,000.00 looks like a lot, but believe me, it goes real fast, and then you have nothing. Go for the college fund, and invest in your own future. Wish that was available when I went to Viet Nam

I think it depends on what you are trying to get out of your time in the service. If you need to pay off some bills and need a quick fix, then take the money. But, if you are smart....take the MCF. I think it adds like $50,000 to your G.I. Bill. That is a lot of money for your education. It will go a lot further than $3,000 any day of the week.I used by G.I. Bill to pay for all of B.S. and part of my Masters, and I had just the regular fund. Think about what you will be able to do with the Bill and the MCF.Godd luck!
