Default Federal Pell Grants?

I go to a california community college and i have roughly 68 units already (more than the average amount of units it takes to graduate or transfer). nonetheless, i want to take more classes simply for the reason of boosting my GPA. is there a certain cutoff to the amount of units that federal pell grants will cover? if so, what is it?

as far as i know, there is no "cutoff" to the number of units that the grant will cover. i believe that the amount of the federal grant is set, probably differs from school to school.

Yes there is a set number of credits/units but it varies from school to school and depends on the degree program. If you have already completed the number of credits to graduate you may need to transfer to receive additional funding...contact your school to make sure.

According to the federal government - who gives the grant - Revises the period of eligibility for Pell Grants. Limits such period to the full-time equivalent of three academic years in the aggregate in the case of all undergraduate degree or certificate programs normally requiring two years or less. Specifies that longer eligibility periods for longer programs are cumulative and include periods for which the student received a Pell Grant under shorter programs. Repeals specified provisions for a separate need analysis formula for Pell grants.
