Thumbs up Judgement: Pay or try to 1-2?

Hi, I was hoping someone might have some insight on my matter? I have a default judgement from Midland Funding (dirtbag inc). As such its like twice what the OC had written off. Currently it stands at 4,436.00 and was entered in 2009. Long story short I'm on my feet and finally have the ability to take care of this mess. I am curious what the fastest, most painless and least damaging way to deal with this judgement is as I'm trying to get a home loan in the next few months.

My initial thought was to try and negotiate a settlement with them, not sure if a pay for delete is possible with a civil judgement though and I'm wary dealing with them as they are a pack of crooks and thieves. Secondly I Was wondering if its worth it to try and go through the whole dispute method with the courthouse? Worth it as in I'm unsure of how much time it will take and what doors I leave open in the future for them to come back after me?

If anyone has any input or advice on this matter I would greatly appreciate it as I'm a little out of my element here. Thanks, and thanks for reading

Requesting debt validation after a court has ruled both as to its legitimacy and obligation to repay? A no-brainer validation of the debt by the debt collector.

Additionally, since the period to invoke the cease collection bar under FDCPA only extends to DV requests made within 30-days of dunning notice, I doubt that any DV letter at this point would be timely.

The "dispute method with the courthouse" apparently refers to your appeal rights. Failure to exercise those rights is your decision, and if not exercised, will make the judgment final.

What are the terms of the judgement? What rights of recovery were sanctioned by the court?

They can request, after judgment, that the court issue an order for specific execution of their judgment. The prevailing plaintiff can use the court to attempt to attach assets or garnish wages, so on the basis of their judgment, they may not want to accept payment for less than the full amount. Give it a try, but it appears that they now have the upper-hand.
