Default Recorded?

When it says that a judgment has to be a RECORDED judgment...does this mean recorded with the probate office?

Because if this is so, a judgment that was settled before going to court (3 years ago) is listed on my credit report. However, I spoke with the court this morning and they said that if it was showing up on my credit report that it would have had to been filed with the probate office. I went by the probate records and they have not judgment on file for me. Does this mean that I should dispute this with the CRAs?
