I checked my credit last week and found a tax lien for my father on my credit. I called TransUnion and had it removed. I then called the State and they confirmed that there was no tax lein under my social. But the damage is done. Questions: 1) Once TransUnion removes the tax lein from my name will my credit go back to where it was prior to the mistaken ID? What about the other bureaus? 2) Will Experian and Equifax automatically be notified or do I need to contact them as well. 3) What can I do to get my credit back to where it was prior to the aforementioned mishap? Thanks for the advice. |

1. Yes, it should. 2. No, you need to contact them too. It's best to do it in writing, but if calling works best for you then you can do that as well. 3. Have it removed like you did the first one.
