Have a tax lien but not sure what for

Hello all,

How can I find out how I now have a tax lien on my cr? I'm not sure where this is coming from and want to find out so I can pay and hopefully have removed! Thanks so much!

Doesn't it say on your credit report? You may not want to pay it depending on how old it is. How old is it?

No, it says 2009 state tax lien. The total is only $400 but not sure how to go about even paying it!

I would dispute it with the CRAs first, then if it doesn't get removed, find out where to pay it.

When the judgment indicates a tax lien and it says state tax lien it is usually for unemployment that was over paid to an individual. I know when a client brought this to my attention and we did research, it was from whenever they were unemployed. They were never contacted about the debt, but it was on their report as a judgment.
