Default Foreclosure Not Public Record??

I am helping a friend w/ her credit issues. She lost home last year to foreclosure. The only mention of the foreclosure appears on the mortgage loan tradeline where in the comments section it says "foreclosure process initiated" and the status says "120 days past due".

I understand that both of those items are inaccurate and give her a basis for disputing. However, my fear is that the tradeline won't be deleted but rather UPDATED and that the update will lower her score more. also, the foreclosure does not currently appear as a public record. I am also afraid the dispute could also open the can of worms and cause the "update" to include a mention under public records.

Any suggestions on how to go about this?

I highly doubt the dispute will cause them to update and include a mention under public records.

I would just dispute the mentions of the account and specify that you are asking for full and complete removal. That's really all you can do.
