I just paid off a 5 year old judgement. How many fico points can I expect my score to increase once my credit report marks it as satisfied??

It probably won't go up that much. Try to dispute it. They are much easier to get removed if they're paid.

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and finally making the time to read more and educate myself with more information in order to straighten up my credit history.

My credit is less than good, but have two revolving accounts in good standings. However, there's a satisfied judgment from 2007 that is still on my credit report which makes rebuilding my credit very difficult.

I've not taken any action on my own yet to try and clear this from all three credit reporting agencies, as I don't feel confident that I have enough information in order to take matters into my own hands.

I would really like any helpful information about the right way(s) to have a satisfied judgment removed. Please include anything you know will help; sample letters, amount of time that needs to pass before writing again, specific contact addresses, personal stories and outcomes, etc.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
