I'm waiting for my bought CR's to come in, so I looked up my public records online. There are 6 things on there 2 of which are on TU & EXP reports. They are all before 2004. 1. What letter do I send to try to remove the 2 on the CR's? 2. I pulled the records from a government site. Are these considered the RECORDED JUDGEMENTS discussed in this forum? 3. How could I get the other items removed from public records? 4. What is a Motor Tort? 5. Can I dispute different items on my reports at the same time? Like can I send in a dispute letter for a public record the same time I send in one for a collection debt? |

1, The 2 on your CRs can be disputed with the first letter posted in the Guide To Disputing/Removing Judgments thread. 2. What site is that? I normally can find online public records through the state/county courthouse websites. I'm just curious to know where you found the info..... The 2 that are on your CRs should have a file # and who is reporting it (what county and if it's superior/circuit court) Try looking those up on the court's website and see if it's listed. If so, then you can call them to get more info and then go down to get a certified copy. 3. After getting the answer to #2, I may be able to tell you......lol. 4. Now this, I had to look this up because I honestly do not know. From what I can gather, a tort is a wrongful act (done willfully or negligently) for which a civil suit can be brought. Motor....meaning a vehicle was involved.....I'm assuming. ![]() 5. No. You never want to submit more than one dispute at a time. Otherwise you could get flagged as frivolous and/or they will extend the investigation time by 15 days. You can dispute 3 or 4 items in one dispute (I wouldn't do any more than that) but then wait for those results to come back before sending another dispute. |

Hi, thanks for responding. I got the info from: Maryland Judiciary Case Search I wasnt sure if these are RECORDED JUDGEMENTS b/c there are some items here that were never on my CR & still are not there. Here's whats on the site under my name. They all (6) have a case number. - a freaking failure to display a freaking MTA ticket - closed - not guilty. The printer for tickets wasnt working & cop still gave me a ticket. Went to court. Won. - there are 4 cc judgments on there 2 of which are from Platinum Financial. They are different debts. One is for $1300 & the other for $900 Equifax reports one & TU reports the other but they both have the same case number. On a CR from 2007 they were both listed w/ 2 different case numbers. Is this just a mistake? Theres a motor tort listed from 1992 & its someones name Ive never heard of. It also lists my mother & father so Im thinking it was a car accident & they just list evryone on the insurance at the time. I just wanted to know if this site is where I get the RECORDED JUDGEMENTS & if an item is off my CR can I get it off my public file? Thanks |

You're a great help. I feel like I'm getting on everyone's nerves. lol. Actually I dont remember ever being served. I think maybe they mailed it. The ticket, I found out, can be expunged. Its $30 for other pleas like PBJ, stet, & guilty(minor), but its free for not guilty. It takes 3-6months & its a process that has to go thru several hands. It starts by going to the court that has the case & filling out the correct paperwork & if needed pay the fee. You'll eventually get a letter of confirmation saying its been removed. Is there a way I can find out if I was served properly? & the 2 in public records that are not on my CR were removed from my CR last yr. I just found an old CR & they were on it. The issue is that the judgment on my CR now has the case # of the one that was removed. The balance is correct but it varies slightly(within $100) on each of my current CR's( TU = $950, EXP = $1000, EQU = $1007.52) When I dispute this, do I tell them the balances & case # dont match, or just let them figure out why? Can I dispute both of my judgments ( 2 different OR) at the same time? & can I dispute it at more than 1 CRA at the same time? Like can I send dispute letters for each judgement (2) to each CRA(3)? 6 letters? Thank you so much |

I would just dispute one judgment at a time. Send the exact letter in the thread I posted above. Let them figure it out. Don't give them any extra info. It's not necessary. For finding out if you were served properly, contact the courts and find out how/if you were served. Then check your state laws, there is a section on rules of service. If you have trouble finding it, let me know. |

I am having trouble finding MD rules of service. I appreciate any help you can give. & I have 1 more question before I dispute my judgements. As I said before the acct.# & balances of my judgments(on all 3 CR's) do not match the MD case search site. & you said to dispute them 1 at a time. So correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sending a dispute letter to EQU re: Judgement 1, a dispute letter to EXP re: Judgement 1, & a dispute letter to TU re: Judgment 1? Or am I just sending a letter to EXP re: judgement 1 & waiting for a response or solution before I dispute it w/the other CRA's. Thank you again for your time.

Ok, this should be the right link for you..... Legal Resources This site is actually pretty easy to navigate around in......so you should bookmark it. On the left, click the folder that says "Maryland Rules" Then again on the left, click on either Title 2 or 3 (depending on what court your judgments are in) and then in the right window, you will see the different rules for process service. And to answer your question on disputing - I would dispute the same (one) judgment with all 3 CRAs at the same time. Wait to get the results on those and then you can send in another round of disputes. Last edited by Trish; 01-25-2009 at 11:23 PM. |
