Why do employers hire people based upon credit scores and grade point averages?

Good grades and high credit scores are an indication of the person's attitude toward work and meeting his obligations.

Credit scores are believed to indicate people who follow though on obligations and perhaps are more stable.Grade point averages are considered indicia of intelligence, ability to work and achieve, believed to be good indicators for success in life and employment.

They show that an individual can handle responsibility and strive to keep things organized. If your credit score or GPA is off the deep end, you may have a problem with keeping track of things...not a quality that an employer looks for.

I know many simple minded folk who could study for days and bring home A's. The same with their obsessive commitment to maintain both their credit scores, and to keep clear their "permanent record". This type of follower will need someone with innovation and nerve to lead them
