Default How long can u stay in a house after a...

...foreclosure sale? A friend of mines house is going into foreclosure. It will be sold soon. Do they have to move right away after its sold or do they have a little bit of time?

I would say that is up to the person who is buying the house in the forclosure sale. The buyer may demand your friends are out by the closing date - if their is one in a foreclosure - It is not their house any longer so I would guess they better have someplace else to go!

if they know its going to be sold why not get to planning the move so they can be readyor move before one when it comes time to movedon't just wait around for it to happen

Once a house is sold at a foreclosure sale, it has a new owner. In almost every state, it takes a court order to get someone evicted.The process of getting a court order can take from a few days to months depending on how busy the courts are and if the person in the house wants to fight the eviction.BOB F

First you need to determine if there is any redemption rights in your state. The redemption period can be up to a year after the sale.
