Default Foreclosure?

I bring home less than $1000 per month from my job. Earlier this year I was having to pay a COBRA contract to keep my family on insurance until new insurance became available through hubs new job, this cost me $750 a month. I was responsible for our house payment of $450 a month also (no way my wages would have covered both), but hubs felt he didn't need to hand over any money into the checking account to help me pay for this. He told me to keep the insurance and house payment up and he would take care of the rest of the bills which total about $500 a month total. Ok, I got behind on the house payment and have not been able to get caught up now that new insurance has kicked in. I was going to make a payment on the house two weeks ago, but hubs dropped his load of bills in my lap, I don't know where his money is going, I don't see it or anything purchased with it. How long does it take for foreclosure to start? Our mortgage was given to a company we did not choose and this company. There have been many bad reports on this company.

3-4 months is correct (other answer) for missed payments. the mortgage company will usually work with you if you call them and tell them what is going on. It isn't going to make your credit report look good though. Aside from that, why are you with this man???? It is his responsibility, as head of the household, to provide for the family within. Sounds like you need to find out what is really going on before you get drowned in the financial heap he is putting you in. It is hard to recover, even if you get divorced. He just sounds like a mean bas turd!
