Default Debt Management: Have you heard of Money...

...Management International (MMI)? I am in a lot of debt and have talked to a credit counselor in order to get on the right track. She suggested that I use debt consolidation. I just want to make sure that the company she is with is a good company that is not going to get me in trouble. If you have heard anything about Money Management International, please let me know what you thought. I am going to a lawyer today to go over my contract and make sure that I am doing the right thing. I just would like to hear input from you guys. Thank you. This is a non-profit company. I also wanted to know if I could keep one credit card open, as they close my accounts, so that I will HAVE credit instead of no credit.

I have not heard of mmi, but I am in Canada. I got credit solutions.ca on the internet and I am now one of their clients. They are in Burnaby. B.C. and they seem to be very good. You fill out some forms.(the usual stuff), and they do the rest. They consolidate all your bills and depending on how much you owe, you pay a monthly fee. Good luck.
