Default Spread sheets and financial plans??

I want to make a financial plan so I can buy a car at the end of the year... I used to know how to make spread sheets and manage money and put down my income and my expenses and stuff... but... well.. I stopped doing it and now I completely forgot how!! Can anybody give me some tips or advice please? It would be much appreciated.

I like my method, you may do something else: 1ST PAY CHECKIncome: wages +other= netBills: Rent/mortgage Food Gasoline Insurance Utilities_____________ Total expenses(add all the bills, and get a total) Spendable left:______(Subtract Total expenses from incomes)Now do the same for the other pay period(s). If you have money left over, budget as much as you can/like for you down.
