Default My spouse wont stop spending!

This is my first post...Please offer any solutions you may have...

I have told my husband that we have more bills going out each month than we have money coming in. He says not to worry and that we always manage.
I don't want to just get by and manage...how do I ever get him to stop spending?
I can't sleep, I worry ALL the time and stress eat on top of that...which has caused me to put on an unwanted 20 lbs. Ugh! I'm starting to worry now about my health from the stress and our future.

It gets worse...but I'll stop here for now!

See if you can get him to agree to following a written monthly budget. Some folks do not realize how much they spend until they see it on paper. We use quicken in my household and can instantly see where the money is going. Ask for a mathematical explanation of “we always manage”.

That's tough, sounds like more than just a simple credit issue. I don't mean to offend, I just come from a psychological background, but if you're not communicating with one another accurately about why you're concerned and why he is not, you gotta get to counseling before this spirals even further out of control

I agree with 2muchdebt. Although counselling can be expensive, it may be worth it in the long run both for your finances and your marriage. You may want to consider going to a college or university that has a counselling program. Visit them and ask if they have student counsellors who see patients. Often masters students will be work in their universities counselling department in order to gain experience. Basically, you can get help for a fraction of the cost of visiting a private practice. Good luck!
