Oh, I see.

UGH....
Well, if you have a medical debt, there's really no way around it. The one thing you would want to do though......is when you get the bill, look very carefully over the charges. If it looks like they inflated some of the charges, you can look up the standard fee for those charges for your state.

I need to see if I can find that info. There are some states that make it fairly easy to find.....

If I can find it, I will post it here.

Aha!
I think this is it!
(link dead)

See if that helps once you get the bill.
*At the top there is a link for "Hospital Prices".

Just edited to add.....there is also a free service once you register. You can fax them a copy of your bill and they will analyze it for you to see if the charges are fair.

Damn damn damn, lol , I guess going over the bill is the best thing to do, but to tell u guys the truth I was so sick I don’t even know what was done to me, I know I left the hospital the same day and my bf at the time I think he signed stuff for me cause i was too weak too so or maybe I did I don’t know what was done, I read on another site that you can call them and tell them that u cant pay this bill and they sometimes forgive a portion of the debt, or something to that like that? When i called and asked them to recall it from collections the put me on a plan, the amount is something that I can manage but again it just another bill so u guys think if I call them and ask them to forgive a porition of the debt they will? I went to the hospital on Christmas eve last yr and I just started working about 3 months ago because I was still sick until then

You can ALWAYS ask.
You might also ask if there is any sort of assistance you may qualify for. They would know if there's anything out there to help you.
