I have a cap one card that the first deliquency was July 08, it was sent to collections in Dec 08. SOL in Kansas is 3 years for credit cards so since that was up last month I contacted all three agencies to dispute that this shouldn't be on my account this week. I just got a notice that my score dropped 23 points because my account was "updated". I sent the dispute to the credit agencies and didn't contact Cap One or the collection agency. Anyone know why this is happening??? I was looking forward to a boost not a drop! What did I do wrong??
It was a notification from MyFico Score Watch. It just says "investigation in process"
I mistakenly thought that SOL meant that it would be removed but I am told now that just means they can't come after me for it but it will remain on my account for 7 years. Thought it would be removed. But I don't understand what "update" was made when it clearly says "under investigation". The investigation gave me a drop?! Nothing has been removed or changed per the score watch. I just disputed this LAST NIGHT.
Ahhhh, Help me! lol
