I've disputed a small amount on my CR that was dragging my score down. When I applied for a refi, the lender said that Fannie Mae underwriting would want the disputes removed. That puts me in a spot, because without the (valid) disputes, my score would not be as good. Isn't there a time limit by which disputes go away automatically? Any suggestions for how to proceed? I've tried the PFD route, but have had no luck. |

Filing of a dispute causes a "Disputed under the FCRA" code to be posted to your credit file. Upon resolution of the dispute, that code is not just deleted, it is updated to show the resolution of the dispute. I am sure your lender wants to see the resolution of the dispute, not the absence of any prior code documenting any prior dispute. |
