Has anyone used a credit repair company?

I applied for a mortgage and the loan officer suggested i go through a Credit Repair Company are they legit and has anybody used them before?

For the most part, they cant do anything you cant do yourself, provided you have a basic understanding of the process.
I am sure there are some good ones out there, but they generally don't have a very good reputation.

So much so that the direct dispute legislation and rules prohibit credit repair organizations from using the direct dispute process on behalf of a consumer, or in even assisting the consumer in filing a direct dispute.

If your credit repair will involve filing of disputes over the accuracy of information in your CR, they cannot assist you in that valuable part of credit repair.

I highly recommend that people learn about credit and credit repair. It's worth the time it takes to learn because credit effects so many aspects of your life.

On the other hand, there are many people that simply don't have the time (I personally believe they can make time, but whatever). But, I also understand because when it comes to things like accounting, it's miserable for me to even sit down for 5 minutes to read about it.

Anyway, for the people that refuse to learn and would rather hire a credit repair company, there are actually some great companies. We've done research on them, we've met with many of them, and we vouch for them.
