I'm afraid we may need some more information than this.

Was this a pay for delete? If so, there should be something stating that they have 5 or 10 days to remove it. When did the CA receive the payment? I would give them the 5 or 10 business days after that then write a letter, send it Certified Mail with RR and a copy of the pay for delete that they agreed to and then ask them to make it an official delete.

I'm really hoping it's a pay for delete. Otherwise, there is no obligation for the CA to remove and you have lost your leverage.

Payment or lack of payment of a debt does not erase the correctness of the information previously reported, such as collection activity on the account.

FICO scoring is based on the occurrence of delinquencies and derogs, and not upon your final resolution of the debt that caused the reporting of those adverse items.

If the debt collector promised to delete their prior reporting in exchange for your settlement of the debt, you then have a private contract issue between the two of you.

That is not a disputable item as to the accuracy of their reporting.

If you did not have a PFD agreement with them, then you must resort to a GW request for deletion. If you did have a PFD agreement with them, it is very unlikely that the CRA will intervene in your behalf, as their credit reporting agreements with all furnishers of information to them stipulate that prior reporting is not to be deleted on the basis of payment of the debt. They are very unlikely to enforce an action that is directly contrary to their stated policy.
If the party does not abide by their agreement with you, you then have a breach of private contract issue.
