Hi guys! Found this forum on a google search. Would like to get my credit repaired. I am a little confused about some things. I believe the sol in PA is 4 years and if that is the case then here is what I am wondering. One of the items on my credit report says: ANDERSON FIN NETWORK/BLOOM Date Reported: 12/2007 Date of First Deliquency: 05/2005 Date Major Deliquency First Reported: 12/2007 When figuring out the SOL should I go by the 12/2007 date and despute it not to get it removed or go by the 12/2007 date and wait until Jan of next year to get it removed. On my TransUnion report it says estimated date this item will be removed 04/2012 Now I have another account that says: Chase Card Services Date of First Deliquency: 10/2005 Date Major Deliquency First Reported: 05/2006 Status: Charge-off - Credit Limit $500 Charge off Amount $1,116 Activity Designator: Transfer/Sold (I think a collection agency has the account now) And then I have one thet confuses me. It says: Kay Jewelers Date Opened: 03/2005 Date Reported: 05/2011 Date of First Deliquency: 06/2005 Date of First Major Deliquency: 01/2006 Charged off Account I am a little confused by the 05/2011 date reported. Was that the date it was reported as charged off? If it past the SOL because the first deliquency was in 2005? Should I dispute that one also? Thanks for the information all! I have a few others that have Date of Deliquencys or Charge off Dates that are longer then 4 years long( I believe 4 years is the SOL in pa?) Most of the info is from my equifax report. |

Expiration of your state SOL has nothing to do with credit reporting, or the exclusion of reported information from your CR. SOL relates to your legal obligation to pay the debt, and provides a legal defense in a proceeding brought before a court for a judgment for payment. Any charge-off or collection has a credit report exclusion period of 7 years plus 180 days from the date of your first delinquency with the original creditor. Period. That date is one date-certain, and is unaffected by any later activity or expiration of any SOL on the debt including DOLA or date of first major delinquency. Normally, by the time the credit report exclusion period has passed, most state SOLs have also expired, but again they are paralleled and unrelated periods. |
