I lost my wallet over the weekend. I have ot re-order everything from SS cars, to insurance cars, and my CC card. How much of a score decrease will I see since I lost my CC and have reported it lost/stolen? I am so upset, not so much about the card/score reduction, but for the first time in my life i was being organized (with a wallet) and was in love with my wallet. Yeah, I know its the dumb things in life that please me.... ![]() Thanks! |

When lost cards are reported, the CCC will almost always reissue a new account number, and retain all the information on the old account, thus retaining its age and credit limit, which are probably the two major factors you want to retain. So it should not affect your credit score. It may, during the transition, drop from your CR for a month or so if the new account is not reported concurrent with the old one. That probably wont happen, but dont be alarmed if hand A doesnt act at the same time as hand B. Any loss of its account age and credit limit should only be temporary once the new account is fully reported. |
