Default What to send to CRA

When sending a dispute by mail to CRA, what information do I need to send? I do not have an up to date drivers license, its from another state with another address that I just had the CRA delete.

Do I send a copy of my social security card? I have a tribal ID that has my picture on it or maybe I could send my drivers license with the old address and state name blackened out? I want to start sending disputes but I don't want to have to wait until I get the new license in the mail. I have bills in my name with my current address that I can send.

Or maybe I just need to send a copy of my credit report as printed from the CRA?

Thanks

Send a copy of a utility bill and a photo copy of your Social Security card. These are two of the things they specifically ask for when requesting proof of identification. They will accept any government issued identification card that is current, w-2's and or paystubs with identifiers (DOB SSN).

You'll be fine sending in a utility bill (gas, water, phone, cable etc) and a copy of your SSN or paystub.

My reaction is NOT to even dispute through a CRA. They complicate things.

You can choose to file a direct dispute with the creditor under FCRA 623(a)(8) and avoid a lot of the CRA nonsense, including their use of their e-Oscar process to bastardize your dispute itself.

Creditors usually don't require proof of identity, unless it is a fraud or identity theft related matter.

None of the direct dispute rules set forth proof of identity as a condition of dispute.
