Default Give up the deleting personal info battle?

I have submitted 2 online disputes with equifax now to delete my personal info, mainly old addresses. It has gotten me nowhere they have not deleted anything. I have waited to dispute anything else in my credit report until I get these old addresses cleaned up. Anyone have any advice on how to get this off my report or do I just move forward and start disputing with old addresses that maybe associated with trade lines in my report?

Thanks

Write them a dispute stating you wish to have them deleted because you didn't live at thsoe addresses very long (like college) and you are now fearful of identity theft.

Believe it or not, you can sometimes have better success over the telephone with items like that. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

Thumbs up

WONDERFUL advice thanks! I called them and the lady said they would remove them for me right away and I've already received the update today.

Glad to hear it! :D

The phone worked for me too.. Some people tell you to never do stuff over the phone or online but I don't think that's good advice. I have had great success with both telephone and online disputes.

Sometimes the phone is better because it's really easy to just send someone a denial letter but when you're talking to them and having a conversation it's sometimes much harder to tell someone no. Especially if you present a clear case like "I'm afraid of identity theft because some really shady people live there now and I saw in the paper where a meth lab was busted at that address". Can you please remove this from my Credit Report?
