Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. Have been reading and getting some great information on here. Thank you! I pulled my credit and noticed Experian has mixed my credit file with someone else's. The contact information is for someone in California (I live in Florida & have never lived in CA), there is also a Tax Lien for California. My question is... what do you think would be the best strategy for this situation? Any advice appreciated, Thanks! ~ Erica |

i would start by having the credit bureaus verify that those items are yours. I would include some kind of documentation that you live in FL.

Your CR identifies the party who posted the inaccurate information. Send that party a direct dispute under FCRA 623(a)(8), along with whatever documentation you have to support your assertion that you are NOT that party. |
