Removing Old Addresses

I have read a lot on the forums for the past few days and see people mentioning having old addresses removed from CR's.

1. What is the value of this (I can't seem to find that answer)?
2. Are there any sample letters available to make the request myself?
3. Using LexLaw, is this something I could/should request from them being a Premiere plan member?

My current status:
Recently got a car (3 weeks ago) and had a TU score of 604. Have 8 negative items including a judgement that I am working to get removed. I show 100% utilization because (I assume) I have no revolving accounts. I have since opened 2 (in the past 2 days) with very low balances that I will keep at less than 20% utilization. I hope this improves that area. I do have a current mortgage for the past 14 months, although prior to that there were a couple of 30 and 60 day delinquencies. I have 2 recently paid-off car loans with no delinquencies and both having early pay-offs.

I want to make the most impact so I have asked LexLaw to go after the 9 severities first, and will tackle the late pays (2 and 3 severities) later. But I am interested in how removing old addresses will help.

I suggest that you first ensure that your current address has been updated with each creditor who reports to the CRAs. When the creditor reports to the CRA and includes an old address, that is entered into your base segment. So even if your address was previously updated, the new reporting by the creditor of an old address can just reset it back to the old address.
