The only thing I would ever consider disputing online is personal information or previous addresses etc. As for actual negatives I would only do it in writing. I'm glad it has worked out for you OP, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Default Online Disputes

I own a credit repair/tradeline business. Our primary means of dispute is through the online dispute panels. I have mailed letters in the past, but have seen no success like I have with the online submissions. The key to getting removals through the online process is the descriptions you put into the additional information boxes. Our average negative item removal rate per client is 80% with online submissions, and the rest can usually be removed by a quick secondary submission followed by a phone call to TU, EX, or EQ. The reason most people have minimal success with online disputes is because they are investigated by an automated system developed by e-oscar. Experian is the most frustrating company by far to effectively dispute online, unless you have realized and understand the proper selection and comments to submit.

By providing our service in this manner, we are able to give our clients a turn around time of less than 60 days in most cases. I realize that most of you are against the online process, but done properly it can produce faster and more effective results than the traditional mailing process.

ONE direct dispute under FCRA 623(a)(8) with the creditor who furnished the information will result in one investigation by the creditor, who is then required to correct or delete with all CRAs they have reported to. This also has the benefit of taking the CRA out of the dispute process, and ensuring that all information provided in support of the disptue goes directly to the creditor, and is not edited by the CRA e-Oscar process.
