you are correct tho,u made a purchase(not a date) and standing in line calling.but still no backup plan(second card,a backup plan?)...
Okay Welder, let's just start over and see if we can play nice. I was never is a position where I could not write a check, pay cash or use a different card for my purchases. That is an incorrect assumption that you made from reading my post. I am not dumb enough to depend on one credit card to make the purchases that I need.

My problem was having a charge card that was a pain to use. I find it embarrassing to be standing in line with other customers behind me and my card not working. The first few times that it happened, the merchant called Amex and the charge was approved. After the first few I would use an alternate method of payment and call Amex after the fact to see if we could identify the problem. The conversation usually went something like this:

Me: Yes sir, I calling to see why my card was not approved when I attempted to make a purchase from Best Buy.
Amex: We noticed that you are over you normal monthly spending habit and we needed more information to process the charge.
Me: Well yea, we had some car repairs that we put on the card. What is my spending limit?
Amex: There is no spending limit.
Me: So, if I go out for a $20 lunch will that purchase be approved?
Amex: Yes Sir.
Me: If I buy a brand new Lamborghini Diablo will that purchase be approved?
Amex: NO!
Me: So, doesn’t that mean that there is a spending limit?
Amex: Ummm……

Again, this was after 10+ year of being a loyal customer who was never late on payments. I got the basic green Amex while I was in the Army and the Gold Card after I graduated from college. Also, I never attempted to charge anything ridiculously expensive. If I went 15% - 20% over my normal monthly usage Amex started getting flakey on approving transactions. I found this to be unacceptable and went with credit card providers that would actually tell me what my credit limit was up front.

I was hoping you guys could kind of handle this yourself. I haven't really read much of what's going on. (I'm in the Bahamas on vacation right now, so I don't have much time for it.)

Anyway, is everything cool now or do I need to play babysitter? Do you guys want me to delete what was said in this thread so that we can move on?

Talking no problem

hello,

me being a new member to this forum but also being a member of different computer forums for Years understand sometimes things are taken out of context and misunderstood resulting in conflict. i have no problem completely squashing this. i will go even further and say I'm sorry if i came off wrong to set anyone off. but simply don't like name calling etc (but again i will forget this) as i said earlier were grown and men and i feel we can easily work threw this no problem.and game plan being a electrical engineer and me being a (part time)water cooled computer builder/modder/overclocker face the problem of electromigration (heat endurance to silicone)we may have more things in common then not. me and gameplan will pm each other if any other topics are needed to be expressed in private.im hoping this sounds go0d.

this is my personal pc in 2011----always upgrading,as technology never stops i must keep up with it

@ chane-
the bahmas ehh....nice =) were good here
