I recently found this site and I have a few questions. Where is the best place to order my paid 3 credit reports and how much does it cost? Do I want to order individual reports from each CRA or just the "buy all 3 reports" from one of the CRA? Here is my situation. I recently was sued for a credit card and ended up settling with the attorneys. The settlement was the end of last year and and it was about 4 years from the date of non payment. There are also a few other credit accounts that were settled or paid in full within the past few years. I have a few credit accounts that are 4-5 years from last payment. I do not have anything within the SOL. I also have a few collection accounts that were settled last year but they are still on my report. I also have 2 other collection accounts for medical bills. Given this general assessment of what I have said..what would be a good starting point? The only thing I've done which I learned from this site is to opt out. Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to lowering my car payments and buying a house within the next few years. |

I ended up getting my 3 credit reports from experian. There is a ton of stuff on my credit report. *How do I find the date of last payment? I just want to make sure 100% that I'm past SOL *I had a chase account that went to a CA and now only chase is the listed creditor *Can I validate with Chase? *Can I validate/dispute with only part of account # example 12345678XXXX? I am definitely overwhelmed at this point. My current scores are ex 571 eq 564 tu 573 |

The best thing to do would have been to request a credit report in writing from each of the CRAs separately. It may be harder to find the date of last activity on the reports you received through Experian. For collection accounts, do the 1, 2 punch. For charge offs, just send dispute letters. If it comes back verified, try a procedural request (method of verification) or the 623 dispute method, or both. You're going to need to take some time to learn this stuff. Making a mistake could cost you dearly. Your other option is hiring a credit repair company.
