They can be slow but after 90 days you should have gotten some sort of letter. The validation process is a joke. The agencies dont really care about the ins and outs of HOW it got on there. They basically ask the company that put the strike on you if its true and take that as the gospel. Even if you dispute it and the CA validates it with the creditor, they might still leave a note on the file that "Customer disputes this information". I cancelled my phone service due to moving from Alaska to a part of the country that they do not offer service, I had no contract since i was just in alaska for a year doing some contract work. the phone company in question continuned to bill me for ... now get this .... 10 months after I cancelled services, paid my last bill then moved. I have a collection for 1200 bucks on my report. I disputed it with the 3 agencies 2 removed it, I sent all my residency and employment information to the agency that didnt remove it and they really don't care about the facts sitting in front of them. Now, i have to go to the police department and file a fraud charge against the company because there is a collection agency that will not back down even in the face of the facts. I offered to pay the CA DOUBLE what they were asking for if they could prove that I made ONE phone call on the account in question during the time they said I had service, they couldn't Yet now i'm filling out fraud papers with the sherriffs office. If you think it is fraud, file charges.
