I've done about all I can now. The last few items I have to handle are proving to be very difficult to remove. All three are 4 year old chargeoffs (actually more than 4 years) but the entries on my CR are all wrong. For example, one says the date of first delinquency was 11/07, but the payment history shows 4/06. Also, the balance is way off. I've disputed twice with the CRA's and they keep coming back verified. I sent a request to investigate to the OC's twice and they keep sending stall letters without actually investigating. One of them, Chase, sends a letter stating that they have records indicating they have spoken to me on the phone about the debt and that is proof that the debt is mine somehow. Anyway, so now I'm going to sign up for some help. I've narrowed my choice down to Lexington Law or Ovation Credit Repair. LL has an A+ rating on BBB and Ovation has an A. However, Ovation only has a handful of complaints. In both cases the nature of the complaints are kind of frivolous, like "I requested they remove 4 negative items and they only removed 3, now they won't refund my money." You know, stuff like that. So I'm comfortable with either, but I want to hear from this community any opinions you may have on either company. |

Most people here are do-it-yourselfers, but there are a few Lexington Law customers. I haven't heard too much on the forums about Ovation. I think you would be fine with either one, but Lexington Law is my favorite.
