I have a a small medical collections bill on my experian for 30.00, back from 2007. I also have a small medical bill on Equifax for 71.00 back from 2007. They are both being collected from accelerated receivable and are from my original doctors office. They were both verfied and updated in April of 2010, and are being reported monthly on my credit report. Is there any chance I can negotiate to get these removed from the credit bureaus. If so should I call the my doctors office(OC) or the Collection Agency. I also heard about a "HIPPA" process as well. Anyone have advice? |

I called the doctor offices earlier today spoke to a woman in billing, and she refused to remove debts or accept payment because they are sold to the collection agencies. I also called the collection agencies and they refused to do a PFD. What do I do next? Any tips or tricks. |

It's generally best not to call CAs. It would have been best to request a PFD in writing. You still can, but if they've already said no, it might not be worth it. I would try the 1-2 punch and look into the HIPAA process. Remember, just because they verified it doesn't mean it can't be dispute in another way, as many times as you want.
