I have been successful thus far getting lates removed via goodwill letters, (HSBC, Citibank). But now a local bank is playing hardball. My account had been lagging behind for months but I was always able to pay before the 30 days. But I slipped up. So when it finally caught up it got reported to Exp. I am not sure about the other CRA. Sent a goodwill, rejected. Went to someone else, no dice. Went to the branch manager to get his help, he tried, nothing. Apparently the higher up that these letters go to is a legal eagle and I think he thinks there will be some kind of legality he would violate if he helped me. What should I do? |

Yea, credit reporting is voluntary. Many creditors will tell you they can't remove a payment or an account or whatever...it may be their company policy not to, but it's not illegal.
