Credit Card Collections

Hello Everyone,

I have a bad credit due to credit card collections that occurred in 1997 and 2002 when I lost my jobs.

I hired credit repair companies twice to fix my credit problems.

However, the Credit Repair Companies did not do what they promises.

Now, my credit still very bad.

For instance, I have a Capital One account that I owned US$2000 ++ and it sold to collection agency. The collection agency offred me a settlement amount US$1200 ++ two year ago.

The Credit Repair Company advised me not to pay two year ago.

Now, this item show on my credit repot as current account and it belongs to Capital One with amount of US$6000 ++ .

Can anyone help and advice me how to resolve or dispute this item?

Edwin,

They were correct. Do not pay the account. Dispute the negative accounts and try to get them removed. Even if you are unable to, they will still fall off in a couple years. If you pay them, they will be on for 7 more years.

Thanks for your advice.

If I let those bad items hang on my credit report. I don't think that I can take it anymore.

I have suffered financial, moral, etc for over 7 years. It started hurt me from 2002 and until now.

Please advice and help.

It's 2010. They shouldn't be on there anymore. If they are, dispute them and they will come off immediately. Learn how to dispute them in the Beginner's Section.
