Default Just joined Lexington Law

From all the recommendations I've seen on this forum, I've decided to employ Lexington Law's services. I have just signed up today for their "Concord Premier" level of service.

I will update periodically on how things go with them, and the results I see. I think there's currently a lot of confusion as to whether they are actually helpful or if there's a lot of fake reviews. I am a real person, you can PM me, call me, e-mail me, I'll be willing to answer questions about my experience with them once I start posting updates.

Please note, I have just joined their services so I'm expecting it may be a month or so before I have any updates. But who knows, maybe sooner.

For the record, I am starting with 6 negative items, 2 of which haven't been paid in full just yet. I am tasking Lexington with working on the other 4 (one of which has been reporting inaccurately for the last 2 years, so I expect that one to a no-brainer for them.)

My expectations:

Within 3 months, I should have at least received some letters from the CRA's about the dispute letters they've received.

Within 6 months, I hope to have had at least 1-2 items removed.

After 6 months: Well, let's just see how well they do first.

Yea, we recommend Lexington Law and a few other good credit repair companies to people who just don't have the time or drive to do it themselves.

We believe that it's best for people to at least learn the laws and understand the credit system as much as possible and to do it themselves if possible. This forum is for do-it-yourselfers, but I also understand that may not be realistic for everyone.

I think that the best way to repair your credit is to do it yourself. You are the only one that really cares about your credit report. This process takes a lot of patience and perseverance. Different techniques work for different people and cases. When you do it yourself the process is de-mystified and I believe you will less likely to get yourself back into credit problems. There is no easy way out of credit problems and if you could afford to pay someone to do all the work involved then how did you get into money trouble in the first place?

Not that you won't be spending money to repair your credit. Done correctly, you will spend $100 or so on postage. It will also take time. It should take a minimum of 3 months to make a significant point change in your credit score. You will need to be creative and persistent as well.

To clarify a couple things..

1) I got bad credit in the first place because I lost my job without unemployment for 6 months. It's really quite amazing how fast things can turn upside-down on you.

2) I don't have time to do these kinds of things myself. I work as an engineer for 12 hours a day, and just can't dedicate the couple hours I stay awake after work to writing letters to CRA's and such. If I can pay Lexington Law to handle such things for me effectively, then I'm all about it. If I don't see results from them, I'll chuck it up as a loss and do it myself if I have to.

I would agree that doing this myself would look better, and my letters would probably be less "templated".
