Ok I am about to prepare my dispute letters (glad I just read to Opt-out and dispute personal info first!), but I want to know what to do first... I have 4 cc accounts that have gone to collections, but all 4 plus their collections appear on 2 of my reports. Should I dispute the CA or the OC first? (to the CRAs, of course) I was only going to dispute 4-5 total items, just to start (I have 11 altogether, but 4 are duplicated, so really 7 and 2 are about to age off) All 4 have been charged off. Is the first step to get rid of CA's first, then go for OC later? Also, has anyone had or know of people having success by disputing items as "inaccurate information" or "very inaccurate information"? That's what I was planning on using, because it keeps the spectrum broad, instead of focusing on a certain item such as dates (which risks simply being corrected, and can be saved for a second round of disputes)... I just want to get everything in order for my first disputes! Thanks in advance!! |

It doesn't really matter which ones you dispute first, they are all negatives. Quote:
Hundreds of people everyday. ![]() I agree with keeping it broad. There is no reason to dispute dates or whatever. Just say "it's wrong, remove it."
