There is a Wal Mart account on my Husbands report on Equifax it says charge-off and on Experian it says Account legally paid in full for less then full balance, he did a settlement on this the first of this year. I tried to call Equifax to have them get the charge off removed to paid in full they are NOT budging can I put a dispute on this?

If it's a charge off, which is negative, you don't want it updated to paid in full. Yes, a paid charge off is better than a non-paid charge off, but it is still negative and it will still hurt your scores and stay on for 7 years. You want it removed. Yes, you can dispute anything you want at anytime. You don't have to have a reason. Under the FCRA, the burden of proof is on them!

Thanks so much Chane. I put a dispute on it now just doing the waiting game. That is the only one on his report that is bad all the others is good
