I had written Bank Of America a letter asking them to investigate the late payments that was verified by the CRA's. I didn't ask for specific lates to be investigated what i had said was "I am requesting that you please conduct an investigation into the late payments reported to all three bureaus" What they came back with was a letter stating " Thank You for your recent inquiry regarding the above referenced account. If you are requesting validation of the delinquency, please supply a copy of a report generated by one of the national consumer reporting agencies and the exact dates being disputed" I am wondering what my next step should be. From my understanding they have 30 days to investigate otherwise if they can't furnish this information it should be deleted, correct? If i send a letter would it reset the 30 day investigation period? Also should I send what they are asking for or just write a letter stating something like all three bureaus showed that you verified the late payments on the account, please furnish me the documents that you use to verify with the CRA's showing i was late on the payments. As i see it pointless to send them a credit rreport of the late payments only for them to say yes they are yours. any help would be much appreciated Thank You |

It shouldn't reset the 30 days, but realistically it may take them a little longer. If it takes too much longer, than it's an issue, you will have grounds to sue.
