I'm getting ready to dispute a CA. It's out of SOL in july and it's a credit card which only had a credit limit of $300. The CA wants $700 now. What do I need to include in my dispute letter? I have a copy of my drivers licence, social security card and a utility bill. Do I need to add a copy of the page on my credit report that has this item listed?, and if so, do I need to first order new credit reports from all 3 CRA's? Should I also get a return receipt for my dispute letters? I have disputed online earlier and got previous addresses and inquiries deleted, but I now want to move on to the serious stuff that are coming out of SOL soon. Thank you |

Do not send CA any copies of you DL, SS#, or anything like that. When you dispute an account and request validation, you are requiring them to prove to you that the debt is yours. Don't empower them.

Thanks for the help regarding this. I was confused about it since I had read somewhere that I needed to include all this info.
