If dates are wrong on my credit

are they a violation of FCRA? I have an account that posts the wrong dates of BK and closing. Would this be a violation?

Also, if a OC reports a balance even after BK is that a violation?

It's only a violation if you dispute it and they don't change the dates. But, when you dispute it you should not ask them to change the dates, you should ask them to remove it completely.

Wow... I was just gonna post a new post about this...

So, my wife was an authorized user on an account when her grandfather died. She successfully got the card transferred in her name and then we got into some money issues. This ended up being a chargeoff. But on the report, it says the first account was terminated in may of 08, and then the one that is charged off states may 20th of 06. Im guessing this can be disputed? And who do = dispute with first? This is an amex account that is currently being collected on through west asset management. >ut the entry on the crdit report still says amex. wow, what should i do?

Anything can be disputed. I hope you're not looking for reasons. You don't need a reason. Under the FCRA, you have the right to dispute any information on your credit report that may be inaccurate, untimely, misleading, incomplete, ambiguous, unverifiable, or unclear (questionable)...which pretty much means you can dispute anything you want. The burden of proof is on the credit bureaus.
