I need help with this one... Verizon has placed a charge off on my credit. It is reporting on the three reports EQ - 03/2010, TU - 04/2010, and EXP - 04/2010. The final payment was made on the acct March 9th, 2010. Heres the deal.. we had cancelled service with them in Dec 2009. My wife recieved statement with new balances as she paid on it but NEVER one collection or late notice. The credit report also shows ZERO 30, 60, 90, or 120 day lates. Just a "paid charge off". Verizon told me on the phone that their company policy is that they will not report an acct as "charged off" UNLESS.....you have gone AT LEAST 120 DAYS with NO PMT AT ALL. My wife paid the $340.00 bill in full in two payments in less than 120 days. They are now saying that because my wife did not pay it off fast enough after cancelling the service that the charge off will remian on our credit. Any suggestions |

It's the same as any other negative really. All you can do is dispute it. If it comes back verified, try a 623 or goodwill letter.
