Default Need advice for repair

I've went from good to bad credit (with a very bad divorce and other stuff) in the past 2 years. I have paid off all my alimony, and all other debts from the marriage. My credit is currently in the gutter. I'm paying a mortgage on a home and my total bills in a month are about $1,000. My gross income for the year is around $140,000 to $160,000. I'm 27 years old and have a steady job. Ive been employed with the same company for about 6 years.

My question is what is the advice to my particular situation to help out my credit? The fastest way to help it. Should I hire a financial guy? Should I get some secured credit cards? My debt to income ratio is like 8%. Is this going to help me a lot when I go to get an auto loan?

Can you be more specific? Are we dealing with late payments, charge offs, bankruptcy? What exactly is wrong with your credit?

well, a vehicle that was in my name got repoed from my wife. she also had some credit cards in my name that i didnt know about, and some other lines of credit that I found out about. I have paid off all lines of credit (credit cards, the vehicle that got repoed and so on). Bankruptcy was never an issue. I did find out that the house was in default when I started looking at the bills. I got it out of default. All bills that are in my name are caught up and all credit cards and and the vehicle that was repoed is paid off. So, now I am going to start the process of repairing my credit that was damaged due to all of this, and I would like advice on the fastest and best way to go about doing this........thanks in advance.

There are numerous methods you can use to start repairing your credit. I would start by disputing the negatives on your credit report and see what comes back verified. Then, I would start on other methods with the verified accounts, like the 623 dispute method, maybe a goodwill letter, etc.

Adding additional positive history is a good credit repair technique.
