Default Equifax Came Back Verified. Next Step?

Okay, I am not sure if I am doing this right or not. First I want to say how happy I am to have found this site. I have learned a bunch already by reading here. My question is this, I disputed a couple of items on my Equifax report. 1 was taken off, the other 2 were "verified" After thinking more about it, I am sure that one of the remaining bills is legitimate, it looks like from reading here that my next step is to send a letter to the Collection Agency requesting they send me validation of the one I am still in question of. I found the sample form letters and plan on requesting validation. Does this sound like the course of action I should take? Right now I have no credit at all showing on my CR, I want to establish some form of credit so that I can start rebuilding. I still don't know what my credit score is yet. I plan on purchasing that and from what I have read here so far, is it better to just purchase each one individually at first or go for one of the agencies that give you all 3? Thanks.

There is this guy all over the web claiming UCC filings for credit repair. Any one know if it is just a scam . Has anyone used them. I have a judgment against me for like 4k and like 3 cards (total of $2 k credit). I really want to do something about the 4k someone told me that if i can get another 3 credits on my report the judgment will matter very little and that UCC filings could be an answer . Anyone ?

Default UCC filings for credit repair ?

I find this interesting -
Yes UCC filings for credit repair work. They work VERY well. I'm surprised someone mentioned them. Look into it, that is all I will say.

Hello Chane:

I know about these UCC filings for a long time now.
You file a UCC-1 statement showing collateral secured between you and another party (person or co.).
The collateral is slowly released as the agreement is fulfilled. The result is a credit reference on your credit, much like a credit card on your credit. That builds credit.
It really works. I can give more details if you ask me specific questions, sort of share the wealth LOL

Who reports it to the CRAs? Is it like a public record?

Bingo. Yes they are.
I remember about 1.5 years ago checking the net to see if there was any info. on UCC filings for credit repair purposes - nothing. I did find some on UCCs but not for the purpose of credit. Things might have changed now but they are still a mystery to most people.
Chane - try them. I like your forum.

Uniform commercial code.

Chane : Do you think I should start a new thread on "UCC filings for credit repair" ? That might attract more attention....I really want to know more about them. ...

Coleman - can you give us a little more detail. Is it true that I can file it for an agreement between friend or does it have to be a company? You see, I also know about them (mainly from the internet) and a friend of a friend who mentioned it a number of times. I have NEVER used them though.

Thank you very much.

JJ
