I have no credit history

Hi guys. I am 21 and currently not a student, but I hope to be soon.. I have tried to get a few credit cards at retail stores, and been rejected on all of them. So I tried to get a capital one student card (they don't make you fill in school info), and I was also rejected for that. I havn't had any negative things on my credit history, I just have no history at all. What do I need to do to start building credit?

Try going to your local credit union and explaining to them that you are trying to start building credit. Ask if they have a starter program. It may help to make a deposit to 'secure' the account.
