After Debt Validation??????

Hey Everyone,

I sent off a debt validation letter to this CA and they replied back with a signed contract of mine. In the state of texas CA's are required to have a license to collect debt. I asked for complete payment history. They only gave me a copy of the contract for a reply.


What next????

Im still new to this forum but I hope this helps a bit....Have you checked to see what the SOL for Texas is? Also, did they send the validation back to you certified mail? You could always say that they never responded.

The SOL for Texas is 4 years. This is a recent collections from last year, I actually rode it out until it went to collections just so I could validate.

They have not posted anything to my reports yet. I did respond with in the 30 days that sec809 states. I sent a DV letter twice. The first one was a nice and they sent a copy of the contract. The second DV letter was a little more aggressive, and they sent the same thing back, a signed contract. Do you think that they will post it on the reports or should I just keep the green card and letters and if it ever does appear, send it all the the CRA's and demand for removal?

If they're not reporting it why would you ask for validation? Be very careful or unintended consequences. Don't wake the sleeping giant.
