I recently sent some dispute letters to Equifax. I received a letter stating they removed one of the three. Then I got an email recommending I click a link to get the results of my other investigation online! They are recommending that I handle all my disputes online! The question I have is: How did they get my email address? I've never emailed them. I've never disputed online. It's not contained in any of my dispute letters. I do have TrueCredit, which is a TransUnion company. Is it possible they shared my email address with Equifax? And if so, is that wrong? I am going to continue to use certified mail only and not communicate online. Just curious how they got my email address. |

The same thing happens to me every month, I dispute my items monthly via snail mail. Never use the on-line disputes or agree to get the results on-line. These applications are only designed to save the CRA's time and money and have zero benefit to the consumer. Quite the contrary, they have a limited amount of time to investigate and then mail you back the results. If they don't then, they are obligated by law to delete these items. You WANT to waste as much of the CRAs time and money as possible  |
